Pauline Cottle Wangsgaard

1924 ~ 2018

Our loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Aunt, and Friend Pauline Cottle Wangsgaard returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 2, 2018, from pneumonia, at the age of 94.

She was born June 5, 1924, in Plain City, Weber County, Utah, to Laurence Nelson and Lettie Rosella Lund Cottle, the fourth child of five. She attended school in Plain City for 10 years, then to Weber County High School for 2 years. She graduated from high school and seminary in 1942.

She started working at Weber Central Dairy in Ogden where she met her husband, Stanley Ferrin Wangsgaard. They were married September 1, 1944, in the Salt Lake Temple by David O. McKay.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, working many positions. Sunday School Stake Secretary for 4 years, M.I.A. President, counselor, teacher, Primary counselor, teacher and Secretary. Relief Society counselor, teacher, secretary. Scoutmasters wife for 12 years. She received her Golden Gleaner Award and Silver Beaver Award with her husband. She has made lots of crocheted afghans, many Christmas stockings made from felt with names on them.

She is survived by her nine children and step-daughter. Kit (Steven) Lincoln, Eric, Jill (Gary) Thompson, Paul (Shelly), Ned (Teri), Lonn, Rex, Tim (Linda), Babs (Stephen) Ison, Sharlene (Russell) Green, 38 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, 2 great-granddaughters, her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 daughter-in-law, Heidi.

Thanks to the LDS Hospital staff for their kind and considerate care of our Mother.

A Visitation will take place on Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Eleventh Ward Chapel (951 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah) at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 12 noon.

Burial will take place in the Huntsville Utah Cemetery, under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
