Lillian Jones

1929 ~ 2015

Lillian Strong Watts (Jones) joined her husband and Heavenly Father on July 9 2015. She was born October 3 1929 in Alpine Utah to Claud Chester Strong and Anna Mildred Hall Strong. Lillian became an instant sister to 5 older brothers and 3 sisters. Like the family name, Lillian was Strong, a pillar of Strength and Dignity, she Persevered in life's challenges and tests, including the loss of her beloved daughter Kaylyn. Lillian began each day with a smile and each evening on her knees in Gratitude for all that was given. A devoted Mother, Lillian is also the proud Grandmother to 17 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren, daughters in law Natalie and Debbie and her sons in law, Richard and Chris, all she held so dear. This legacy began on September 15, 1950 when Lillian married her sweetheart, Buddy Warren Watts. They were a loving couple and devoted to their 5 children; Claudia Watts Edge, Jeffery Bud Watts, Kaylyn Watts Bay, David Warren Watts, and DeLyle Von Watts. Buddy's sudden death August 6, 1969 left Lillian a young widow with small children to care for. She took a job at Equitable Life Insurance Co and retained full time employment there until the age of 81. Lillian's greatest joys were her family, her pride in all of their special talents and accomplishments, and her quest to learn of other countries and customs and to travel and experience the world. Lillian had a bottomless and unconditional love for others and her life was filled with service. Lillian held and maintained many church positions within the Winder 6th Ward, and gave her service freely and with a willing heart. She was sealed to Bud in the LDS temple on their anniversary one year after his death, and later married Raymond F. Jones in an uncommon act of friendship and companionship on May 2 1972, and remained friends until his passing in January 24, 1994. Lillian left this world as a true daughter of her Heavenly Father, and left a wake of loved ones behind, tearful, yet grateful for the lessons she taught and the unconditional love she freely gave. A memorial fund has been set up at Chase banks in the name of Lillian W. Jones.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 15th at 12:00 at the LDS Windser Stake Center, 4366 South 1500 East, Holladay. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 ‚ 8:00pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy and from 10:30 ‚ 11:30am at the church prior to the service.
