Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother June Bickerton passed away on January 15, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born October 29, 1931 in Ottawa, Ontario Canada to Walter Leighton Jenkins and Grace Thompson. She married Richard A.M. Bickerton on March 19, 1954 in Toronto, Canada and they had six children. Her family was the focus of her life, and she devoted every minute to their happiness. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. With a wink, she always reminded her family: "None of us would be here if it wasn't for me."
Her life was one of compassion and service, and she always put others before herself. She was a dedicated friend to all. We will all miss her vibrant personality and wonderful sense of humor.
June was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which she joined in 1961, and was unwavering in her beliefs of right and wrong. She served in many callings, and always supported her husband Richard in all of his leadership positions. Shortly after joining the Church, she and her family immigrated to the United States. Her family lived in Orem, Pleasant Grove, Salt Lake City, and Bluffdale, Utah.
She is survived by her husband, and children Lauren, Michelle, Pamela, Richard, and Joshua. Preceded in death by her wonderful daughter Lezley and by her sister, Diane Whalen. She had 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her, and she them. A private family celebration will be held at11:00 amon Wednesday, January 18, followed by a public graveside service at Holladay Memorial Park at1:00 pm.
