Mary Cannon Mix, age 99, died peacefully on July 21st, 2018 in Salt Lake City.

She was born, April 27th, 1919 in McCornick, Utah, the daughter of Spencer Croxall and Nancy Badger Cannon. Mary loved her childhood and developed a passion for tap dancing. Graduating from Cyprus High School, she then attended Brigham Young University. She first danced with Robert (Bud) Mix at the Saltair Resort and later married him on June 12th, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised their children in Ogden and Salt Lake City. She loved being a mother.

We remember her for advice and laughter while sitting around the kitchen table, bottling fruit on hot September days, sewing and gardening, offering sincere prayers and standing at the front door waving goodbye.

Mom taught us to laugh, love life and look for the good. Family, friends and neighbors were her greatest treasures. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was her life and purpose. She served with her husband in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission, as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple and in several church callings. For 63 years she loved residing in "The Great" East Millcreek 3rd(16th) Ward. She adored her neighbors and friends.

For four memorable years her sister, Nancy Ann, resided with and cared for her. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Nancy and to those friends, hospice nurses and other caregivers who lovingly served her for the last several years of her life. She looked forward to each visit.

She is survived by four of her five children: Jeffrey, Riverton, Rosemary (Jack) Wixom, Holladay, Roseann (Ralph) Neilson, Orange, CA, Paul (Leslie), Provo, a brother Michael B.
