Albert Grant Watson, 84, passed away onAugust 11, 2017 while on his way to workinWest Valley City, Utah.He was born at his home onJune 5, 1933inSpring City, Utah toJames Albert WatsonandLola Olsen.

Albert always went by his middle name, Grant,and grew up inSpring City, Utah.Hegraduated fromNorth Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant in1951. After high school, heattendedSnow College inEphraim, Utah wherehereceived anAssociates Degree. He was then drafted into the US Army in November 1953. He served 2 years in Japan in the Early Aircraft Radar Division where he received an honorable award. He then worked for Cummins Diesel as the assistant part's manager 30 years and then Royal International.

GrantmarriedStella Colleen Dahlon May 29, 1956inthe Manti, Utah temple. They were happily married for61years. Grantwas a member ofThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Grant was an excellent appliance repairman and the customers loved him! He was an incredible mechanic. He enjoyed restoring cars, spending time on Skyline Drive, herding sheep in Black Canyon, horseback riding, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and all other joys of the mountains.

In 1984, Grant and Stella moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where they purchased and ran Fletcher's Used Furniture and Appliance store for three years. They then returned to Salt Lake City, Utah where they opened Affordable Used Furniture and Appliances which is currently still operated by his son David Watson.

Grantis survived byhisspouseStellaofSandy, Utah;his children Kathryn Mitchell (Stan) and David Watson (Beverly); sister Fanon Cook; grandchildren Brandon Watson (Catrina), Brett Montague (Kristine), Brooke Watson, Gregory Montague (Carly), Rachel Robinson (Ellis), Christopher Montague, Alexander Montague, Nicolas Watson and Landon Farr and seven great-grandchildren. Grantwas preceded in death byhis parents, siblings Wanda Cahoon (Clare), Jack Watson (Cecile), Karma Startup (Harry), Gwen Christensen (Eslie) and Doug Cook (brother-in-law), Dawn Watson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 19, 2017 atthe LDS Chapel on 11755 South Highland Drive (2000 East), Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah and from 10-11am prior to the services at the church. Interment at Riverton City Cemetery 1500 W 13200 S, Riverton, UT 84065.
