Marion George Welch passed the morning of August 5th, 2018 in her daughter Kathy's home in Salt Lake City. She now joins her husband, Ivan Vern Welch, in Heaven. Marion was born in Montpelier, Idaho to Udell George and Mary Sophia (Polly) Thompson George. She grew up in Montpelier, Salt Lake City, Copperfield, and Sandy. She attended Jordan High School where she met her husband Ivan Vern Welch. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple October 22, 1943. She lived in Midvale 65 years and her daughter's home nearly 10 years. Marion taught her children the value of hard work. She liked to garden and had many beautiful flowers in her yard. She worked at J.C. Penny in Midvale and cared for her six children Michael, Kathy, Paulette, Paul, Jerry and Karen.
She is survived by her six children; thirty grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. Also survived by her younger brother Richard (Sandra) George.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 1:00 PM -2:00 PM, where friends may call upon the family at the viewings on Friday, August 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again one hour prior to services on Saturday all at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd., (10600 S.), Sandy.

The family wishes to thank hospice and her hospice nurse, Dennis, who helped Kathy with mom. We also thank Kathy for her diligent care of mom for ten years.
