Lawrence (Larry) Mills, age 82, died Sat, Sept. 6, 2014, of causes due to a fall/complications. Born Aug. 15, 1932, SLC, UT to Samuel Lawrence and Beth Neilson Mills. Graduate, Univ. of UT, BS and JD, he was a prominent lawyer, businessman and transp. consultant. Larry spent his adult life in the transportation industry: genl. mgr and VP, W.S. Hatch Co (Hatchco), Woods Cross, UT; Bd. Dir and Chairman of the Bd., Natl Tank Truck Carriers Inc.; pres, UT Motor Transport Assn. and UT Safety Council. Member numerous natl, state, community, prof. organizations/ committees and recipient of many awards/recognitions. Speaker and contributor of articles to legal/prof. journals and publ. Listed in Who's Who in America. Siblings Larry and Carol spent their retirement years in Kamiah, ID, falling in love with the people and rural community life there.

An avid Utes football fan, Larry belonged to the U of U Crimson Club, traveling to home games and many natl. tournaments/bowl games. He belonged to U S Jaycees; Hillsdale College Pres. Club; Lewis-Clark Train Club (model train enthusiast/collector); world-wide traveler. Above all, Larry was a true gentleman, friend and generous supporter of worthwhile causes.

Preceded in death by parents, sister Carol, Larry leaves behind extended family members as well as countless friends and associates.

Funeral services will be held Fri, Sept. 19, 2014, at Larkin Mortuary chapel, 260 E South Temple, SLC, UT at 12:00 noon. Viewing at Larkin Mortuary, Thur, Sept. 18, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Fri. 11:00 to 11:45 am. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
