Nona Robinson Harris

1925 ~ 2015

Nona Robinson Harris, our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, left her tired, mortal body and passed through the veil on November 6, 2015.

Mom was born in Paragonah, UT, the 6th of 8 children born to Thomas A. and Hannah Robinson. She graduated from Parawan High during WWII and worked as a nurse's aide at the Cedar City Hospital and later at old St. Marks Hospital. On January 27, 1944, Mom married her high school sweetheart, Harold N. Harris who was stationed at Fort Douglas. They would have celebrated their 72nd anniversary in January. Mom worked at our family owned Harris Auto Repair in SLC, and in her catering business (mostly a hobby). She enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, crocheting, reading, and her "run-away" home in Paragonah. Most of all, she enjoyed family and may dear friends. Mom served in many church callings in the ward and stake Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. She served in the DUP for 60 years, and volunteered 15,000 hours at the LDS Hospital, one of her choicest experiences. Mom and Dad served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple for ten years.

Mom leaves behind her sweetheart, Harold, three sons, Lee (Sheila), Emmett, and Kelly (Marie-Ann), 10 grandchildren and grandma "Great" to 12 great-grandchildren, a sister, Anna (Charles) Fields, and sisters-in-law, Mary, Lois and Sally.

Services for our beloved Mom will be held Wednesday, November 11, at Noon in the 31st Ward Building, 1078 McClelland Street, SLC. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, SLC and one hour prior to the service at the 31st Ward. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Hospital Volunteers, Primary Children's Hospital or your favorite charity in her name.
