Marjorie B. McCann

1916 ~ 2017

Marjorie B. McCann completed her earthly journey on May 28, 2017, at the age of 101, WOW!!!! What a legacy she has left for us. She was welcomed into the arms of our Savior, and joined by loved ones on the other side.

Marjorie was born February 29, 1916; the sixth of nine children to Rufus Edgar Butler and Eliza May Clayson, in Cornish, Cache County, Utah. She grew up in Cornish, Logan, and Trenton Utah. She graduated from North Cache High School.

She married Richard Fay Lower in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two daughters, Joyce Lower Barlow Avery, and Kaye Lower Strelich Armer, they later divorced. She then married Joseph Edgar Urry, they were blessed with a son Jarol Edgar Urry, and they later divorced. She then married Lloyd William McCann; they were blessed with a son Terrance Clayson McCann. Marjorie worked very hard through the years to provide for her family, she received recognition from her employers for never missing a day of work, finally retiring from Sperry Univac. Her example of hard work and saving taught us the value of the dollar.

The legacy she left behind included many stories, such as the many hours she spent on the farm, learning to drive at a young age, which was taught by her father, enjoying a ballgame, and horse races. Later in life while talking with her having breakfast she would say, "One more clean shirt will do me", and a memorable saying from her Grandmother was, "Just lay me down and D".

Hobbies included spending time with friends and families, bowling, and gardening. Her family being her greatest legacy which included eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great- grandchildren, and twenty-three great- great grandchildren. She was known for her quick witted humor, by all who were acquainted with her, leaving you with a smile on your face. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whom will be deeply missed by all those whom have had the privilege to know her.

Marjorie is survived by her son Terry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Edgar and Eliza May Butler, her eight siblings Larene B.Done, Norma B. Harris, Gerald Butler, Norvell Butler, Lerwell Butler, Eldren Butler, Varden Butler, Myron Butler, two daughters Joyce Lower Barlow Avery, and Kaye Lower Strelich Armer, one son Jarol Urry, and a grandson Erik Jon Strelich.

Services will be held Saturday June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Larkin Sunset Lawn 2350 East 1300 South Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, the day of the services.
