Our sweet little fighter earned his wings after his courageous battle with Leukemia. He passed away peacefully at home with his parents by his side on October 14th, 2014, in Bluffdale, UT. Sawyer had a smile that captured the hearts of everyone who knew him. He smiled through all his challenges of fighting cancer. He truly was the happiest little kid there is, and is an inspiration to all of us. He loved Toy Story, Frozen, Mickey Mouse, wagon rides, Grandpa\s mules, playing with Mom\s iPhone, and driving Daddy\s truck. He loved being outside, playing with other kids, and he was especially good at flirting with his nurses. There is not a day that goes by that we won\t think of him or remember all he has taught us in his short time here. We love you Buzz Buzz!
Sawyer is survived by his parents Todd and Kortney Schultz, grandparents Wendy White, Diana Spainhower, Kim and Stephanie Kelson, Rich and Candi Schultz, Phil and Bonnie Spainhower,great grandparents Carol Anne Ambrose, George Ambrose, Gerald and Judy Pettit, Marilyn Spainhower, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceeded in death by his great grandparents Henry Leon Kelson, Delores Lund Kelson, Earl Henry Schultz Jr, Shirley Mae Schultz, Mark Creer Spainhower, Fred William O\bannon, Kodie O\bannon, and his great uncle Richard Newell Pettit.
A special thanks to Sawyer\s Doctor Doug Fair, the nursing staff at Primary Children\s Hospital and Intermountain Home Health and Hospice for everything they have done for Sawyer and our family. We greatly appreciate it.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary - Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton, UT 84065. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 also at Larkin Mortuary ‚ Riverton, at 2:00 pm, with a viewing before from 12:00 pm-1:45 pm. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Sandy, UT.
