Neta Fenstermaker died peacefully on June 12, 2019 at the age of 88 in her home at Sunrise of Sandy, in Sandy, Utah.

Neta was born to Joseph Elmer McLean and Jennie R. Durrant McLean in College Ward, Utah on April 25, 1931. She was the youngest of their seven children. When Neta was just four months old the McLean family moved to Heyburn, Idaho. Neta grew up in Heyburn, spending 18 years there, and graduating from Heyburn High School in1949. Just eight days later on May 28, 1949 she married Perry M. Fenstermaker, the love of her life, a dashing young cowboy, a returned Marine, and a college student, whom she had met not quite a year before at the Y-dell Dance Pavilion in Burley, Idaho. Following their marriage Neta willingly moved from place to place, primarily back and forth from Idaho to California, where ever Perry could find work. Along the way six children, Teresa, F. Mark, Scott, Jared, Connie, and Bryan joined the Fenstermaker family. In 1963 the family moved to Indio, California. Neta spent her time and energy rearing her children and being involved in their activities. Neta was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions in Primary, Cub Scouts, Sunday School and Relief Society. She was also active in her community serving in Girl Scouts and on Election Board. Neta was an accomplished seamstress. She sewed clothing for all her children, both boys and girls. Neta loved to read. She also loved to crochet, knit, and embroider, making many beautiful afghans for her family. Neta was co-owner of The Yarn Barn in Indio, California. Her husband Perry M. Fenstermaker passed away in 199l and Neta left the Desert in 1995, moving back to Utah to be near family. She joined Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP), something she had always wanted to be part of.

Neta is survived by one sister, Barta McLean Walker, and five of six adult children, Teresa (Blaine) Phillips, F. Mark (Barbara) Fenstermaker, Scott (Diana) Fenstermaker, Connie (Craig) Slade, and Bryan (Darlene) Fenstermaker, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
