Kenneth Eldwin Bement

1955 ~ 2017

Kenneth Eldwin Bement of North Salt Lake, Utah returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on June 30, 2017 after passing away from complications due to heart failure. He was self-described as "a family man, CPA, Godfearing patriot and a lover of classic Chevys, firearms and Utah football." He will be missed for his goofy sense of humor, social media activity, ability to recall facts, and above all his generosity and love for family. He was proud of his heritage and enjoyed sharing stories with his children and grandchildren. He was happiest spending time with family whether on a boat, in the mountains, target shooting, traveling or relaxing at his lake home.

He was born on May 23, 1955 in Salt Lake City and was the second of seven children. He is predeceased by his parents Kenneth Allen (Marjorie) Bement and Oteria Wooten (John) Bagley and his two brothers Brent and David. His other siblings are Cherise, Rory (Rebecca), Steven, and Boyd. Known as "Kenny" to his childhood friends, he attended East High School and later graduated with honors from the University of Utah with a degree in Accounting. In 1989 he started Bement and Company P.C., a CPA firm that continues to serve clients.

He loved the Lord and was active in the LDS church. He served in various callings including a few bishoprics and most recently as an ordinance worker at the Bountiful temple. He married Joy Hancock in 2011 and with their combined families have 13 children and 44 grandchildren (including three on the way). He is survived by his wife Joy; children Martina (Jason) Muir, Kenny (Lori) Bement, Marchelle (Chris) Lee, Charla (Samisoni) Tapa'atoutai, Brent (Candice) Bement, and Brandon (Janey) Bement.

Ken's life was an example of love for his family, service to God, and fulfillment of his responsibility to community and fellowman, as well as bearing patiently his afflictions and enduring well to the end. He will be missed every day, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and cherished friends for generations to come.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 8, at the LDS Springwood Ward chapel on 165 Monarch Drive, Bountiful, Utah at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held Friday July 7 from 6-8pm at Larkin Mortuary on 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Visitation will also be held prior to services from 9:30-10:30 am at the ward chapel.
