Mary was born on July 6, 1922 to Roy and Anna Glentz in Patterson, NJ. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 22, 2017.
In her early years, she enjoyed ice skating, badminton and dancing. While working at a defense plant during WWII, she met Harry R Sutton. They were married on May 6, 1944 in Ridgewood, NJ. Soon after, they moved to Clear Creek, Utah and then later settled in Salt Lake City. Together they had four children. Mary dedicated 28 years to Skyline High School as a cook. Here she made many close and lasting friendships.
Mary will be remembered for her years of charity and service. She was generous with her time and talents. Many people were blessed through her efforts. She volunteered at various senior centers and Catholic churches. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting scrubbies and making baby blankets for craft boutiques.
Mary was a sweet and generous woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her children Harry (Toni), Mary Ann and Julie, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a sister Julie Crowell. Preceded in death by her husband, son Bill, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, UT.
