Laraine passed away on February 14, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 81. She was born to Archer Lester Clayson and Mabel Rawlins in Spanish Fork, UT. She married Kay Samuelsen in Salt Lake City, UT.
Laraine was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in the Young Women and Relief Society organizations, but she especially enjoyed serving as the pianist and organist. She had a tender heart toward animals. Her sweet disposition will be missed by all who knew her.
Survived by one daughter: Jill Jeppsen (Kevin) and four sons: Larry, Rick, Steven (Lisa, deceased) and John (Bette). Siblings: Dora Hanks, Douglas Clayson (Ann) and twin sister Larene (Lee). Thirteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Kay Samuelsen, parents, two brothers (Vern, Darrel) and two sisters (Hazel Warner, Vonda Anderson).
Services will be held Saturday, February 18th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Granite Park Stake Center (601 E. Mansfield Ave. Salt Lake City, UT 84106). Friends may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Larkin Sunset Lawn (2350 E. 1300 S. Salt Lake City, UT 84108) and Saturday prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawn. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
