Christine Bringhurst

1948 ~ 2014

Christine Bringhurst passed away on November 23, 2014 at 4:50 PM in the IMC ICU surrounded by her husband and children and scores of wonderful doctors and nurses in Murray, Utah. She was born August 31, 1948 to Gordon and Dorothy Higgins in Swindon Wiltshire, England.

She met the love of her life, Russell John Bringhurst on January 10, 1976 and were later married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 27, 1977.

After being baptized at 14 years old in Bristol, England, Chris was a devoted member all her life from serving as a youth missionary in England to Primary President, Young Women's Counselor as well as countless other callings. Finishing with a fulfillment of a lifelong dream of serving as a Senior Missionary couple with her beloved husband, Russ, in Bristol, England, within the England London South Mission from 2009 to 2010. Russ and Chris had applied to go on another Mission to the London Temple prior to her being diagnosed with cancer in March of 2013.

Chris was a devoted wife and mother, she was a stay at home mom who raised her kids to love God and each other. She had a great sense of humor and loved all children especially all teenagers (which her husband could never understand).

She is survived by her husband, Russ; children, Becky Bringhurst Chaffin (Kyle), Rusty Bringhurst Jr. (Sunny), Tim Bringhurst; grandson, Toby Russell Chaffin; sister, Elaine Blewden (Steve) Swindon Wiltshire, England and brother, Gordon Higgins (Lucy), Syndey, Australia.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Candice Christine Bringhurst Summers in 2010 (Jon Summers 2007), father 2004, mother 2006, father-in-law, Scott L. Bringhurst Sr. 1995, mother-in-law, Beatrice Pritchard Bringhurst 2000.

Memorial services will be held, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Willow Creek Stake Center, 2350 East Creek Road (8200 South) Sandy, Utah at 12:00 noon. A gathering will be held Friday night from 6-8 pm at the Willow Creek Stake Center, Relief Society room and Saturday, one prior to the service.
