Robert Madison Brown

1937 ~ 2018

Robert Brown passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 29, 2018. He was born January 2, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Herman Jennings Brown and Myrtle Josephine Madison. He graduated from South High School in 1955. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1959-1961 in the West Spanish American Mission. In 1964 he served briefly in the Army Reserve. He married Karen Clawson on August 19, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. He had 4 daughters and 13 grandkids. Robert worked hard throughout his life to support his family. He retired in 1999 from The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. He held many callings in the LDS church. His favorite was working with the scouts, which he did for many years. His scouts became the sons he never had. Robert had a great love for family history. He loved to find his ancestors and tell his family their stories. He loved his family very much. They were his pride and joy. His family will miss him dearly but know he has been reunited with his sweetheart.

Robert is survived by his daughters - Karrie Pati, Becky (Kevin) Tirrell, Kristy Brown, and Lynda (Mike) Goleman; his son - Jeremy Smith; Grandkids - Tyler, Braeden, Katie, Hunter, Maddie, Toby, Tank, Jonathan, Andrew, Clate, Trissie, Anabel, and Stanley.

Preceded in death by his wife Karen, parents H. Jennings and Myrtle, and sister Louise.

Funeral service will be held Friday July 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wells Ward, 1990 South 500 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, July 5, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, as well as from 12:00-12:45 p.m. at the Ward prior to services. Interment at Holladay Memorial Park.
