Jessica Sarah McWrighte, named Julianne Brock at birth, passed away at age 50 on April 16, 2019 from the effects of cancer. She fought with all she had and earned her angel wings. From the beginning of the cancer diagnosis she was determined to fight and to live the time she had left to the fullest. She checked off a few bucket list items with travel and spent a lot of quality time with friends and family. She spent the last weeks with her mother and had many cherished visits with family and friends.
Jessica's theme was the starfish story. She always wanted to be sure she made a difference even if it seemed impossible or only helped one person. Her handmade cards and treats delighted friends and neighbors, nurses and doctors, and everyone in between. She loved to "Pay It Forward." She fought for those she loved and those who were hurt or sick. She was a patient advocate and helped those with cancer find substantial financial help for their astronomical bills.
She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend to many. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Eugene Brock, Jr. She will be greatly missed especially by her family (mom, two sisters, two brothers, nieces and nephews) and many close friends.
There will not be a viewing or a funeral at Jessica's request. A Celebration of Life party was held in February where she was able to see and hug many of her friends and family members. That night meant the world to her.
Jessica decided to be cremated. Her cremains will be placed in her chosen niche in the Mausoleum at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy. In lieu of flowers, please donate to her favorite charity https://bigcatrescue.org/ or your own favorite. Fly high, dear angel.
