Evangelina Montelongo Almeida

1961 ~ 2017

Our mother, Eva, passed awaythe morning of Wednesday, August 16. She was with her family on vacation and was so happy being with us. We were together like a family again on this trip.

Her Majesty, Evangelina Almeida, was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on July 28, 1961. Mom loved us in her own way. She molded us into who we are now. Our mother was a hard worker, working from a very young age. She helped us out as much as possible - she helped family, friends and even strangers. Mom knew and understood the struggles of life; even with her sickness, she went to school to try to get her American citizenship. She was so proud and studied hard.

Mom\s favorite thing to do was dancing. She danced at her favorite club Durango everySaturday. We loved hearing her talk about it instead of worrying all the time - she sounded like a teenager. Wendover was like her Disneyland; she would always win - she\d win big too! Her picture will be immortalized in the Wendover walls.

Eva is survived by her "Demonio" of a son, Javier, her daughters, Amelia - the "Demonia", and Amalia - "Demonia #2", and her favorite little loving monsters Andrea and Miguel, her grandchildren.

Our favorite part of our mother was no matter what she never gave up on us. Thank you for your suffering your sacrifices you\ve made and the love you gave us all. We love you mom.

A celebration of life will be held in memory of Evangelina on Friday, August 18, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, located at 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT
