Debbie passed away June 3, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Debbie was born on March 7, 1955 in Inglewood, California to her parents, Charles "Johnny" and Gloria Melchionne.
Debbie grew up in California as the youngest of two. She graduated from Reseda Senior High School in 1977. She met the love of her life, Robert Kaefer, and they married on July 7, 1984.
Debbie was a dedicated employee at Northrop Grumman for 40 years, where she worked in configuration management. She was known for her sense of humor and her ability to always find the cheerful side of things. Debbie was accepting of everyone and loving, never failing to give a hug where needed. She carried a certain amount of spunk and flair that left people full of happiness.
One of her favorite things was enjoying time with her family, whether it be having a meal together or video messaging those in a different state. She loved planting potted flowers to surround her backyard and would spend many hours each spring creating a beautiful space to enjoy. Debbie had a knack for finding good deals, making a fantastic lasagna, and always seemed to come out on top from a weekend Wendover trip. Her upbeat personality and beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, their son Matthew and his wife, Stacie, her step-son John, his wife Randi, their two children, Samantha and Joshua, and her sister Karen.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, UT. A celebration of life will follow in the greenhouse.
