Our loving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, Barbara Ann Forrest, received her wings and returned peacefully to the lord on September 2, 2014.
Barbara fought her way into this world November 9, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Henry Chacon and Effie Ortega-Chavez, and has suffered much loss in her life. She always opened her heart and her home, and gave of her time and wisdom. These simple acts came natural to her. She had a very strong influence on many peoples' lives. She never over reacted, and her heart was pure and oh so real.
Barbara became a member of the LDS Church and truly found peace and comfort being accepted into that religion. She enjoyed cooking, reading, painting, and taking care of others. She was also in love with her two dogs, TJ and Buddy. Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother and had a big heart, accepting people for who they truly are.
Barbara is survived by her three children; James, Michelle and Christine; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a cousin. She loved her family and friends very much and will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 12:00 noon, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends and family may visit Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
