Larry Eldredge

1935 ~ 2017

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, Larry Eldredge. He passed away January 11, 2017, in San Jose, Costa Rica, doing what he loved, vacationing with his entire family. Larry was born on January 17, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Arthur and Lucille Eldredge. He attended East High School and the University of Utah and was an avid "Utes" fan. Larry proudly served in the U.S. Navy and loved reminiscing about his experiences with his family. He married Ann Clark on June 6, 1958. Larry worked at Deseret Pharmaceutical and Ballard Medical, retiring in January, 2000. Ballard Medical became a second family to Larry. He always said that working for Mr. "B", Dale Ballard, was an honor and a privilege that would never be forgotten. In 1994, Larry was in need of a kidney transplant and was placed on the donor list. Receiving a kidney transplant one year later, Larry was grateful, humbled and sad beyond words. There was always a special place in Larry's heart for the donor family. Mr. "B" and Ballard Medical went above and beyond for his family during that difficult time.

Larry and Ann loved to travel and were fortunate to have traveled to many parts of the world, sometimes traveling with special friends, Joe and Sue deMik and Bill and Lynette Gord. They especially loved vacationing with their children and grandchildren. Lake Powell was Larry's favorite family vacation place and many memories have been created there over the last 40+ years. During Larry's last days, he was with his entire family in Costa Rica. As a family we are very grateful to the wonderful people of Costa Rica. Their sincere love and kindness during this difficult time will never be forgotten.

Larry has left a legacy for his family: of a strong work ethic, respect for one another, treasure the simple things in life, and most importantly the love of and for family. He rarely missed his children and grandchildren's baseball, football, softball, basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball games.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, father-in-law and his beloved daughter Andrea. He is survived by his wife Ann, of 58 years, two sons, Steve (Beverly), Curt (Teresa), son-in-law Mark Meadows, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Markelle, Alexandrea, CJ, Nicolle, Hayden, Jentry, precious great granddaughter Savanna, mother-in-law Maxine Clark.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah, from 11:00 a.m-12:30 p.m. At Larry's request, no service will be held.
