Betty Lou Escandon (Aldous) Jackson

1923 ~ 2017

Betty Lou Jackson left her mortal life on April 6, 2017. Born December 21, 1923 in Boise, Idaho to Albert L. and Jessie Emery Escandon. Educated in Salt Lake City, Utah. Member of the LDS Church. Married Charles G. Aldous in 1945. He died in 1962. Married Frank C. Jackson in 1968. Theirs was a marriage of great love and happiness.

Betty Lou was honored in 1944 to be chosen \"Queen of The Days of \47\" celebration. A most wonderful event in her life. Betty Lou was employed by the Salt Lake City-County Health Department for 28 years, retiring in 1980. She was named Outstanding County Employee by the Bonneville-Kiwanis Club in 1974; received Salt Lake County \"Courtesy is Contagious\" Award in 1974; and the Lynn M. Thatcher Award in 1991 for her work in Environmental Health. She was an honorary member of Utah Environmental Health Association, past member of the Utah Public Health Association, served on Sanitarian Registration Board from 1988 to 1991.

Betty Lou and her beloved Frank enjoyed life together and appreciated the beauties of nature. They loved to travel, camp and walk together. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her sisters shopping, having lunch and taking trips together.

Survived by husband Frank; daughter Claudia (Mark) Wilson, son Keith (Nancy John) Jackson. Seven precious grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; very special extended family Lynn and Rob Jones and their daughter. Also survived by one sister Janice Davis, wonderful nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, first husband, sisters, Helen and Vida. Also her beloved children Linda and David Aldous.

At Betty Lou\s request, there will be no formal service. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 1:00-2:00, followed will be a dedication of her crypt in the Corridor of Peace at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT
