Arnold Marvin Seiler

1927 ~ 2015

Marv passed away peacefully at home on the morning of July 23rd, 2015. Marv was born March 27th, 1927, to Arnold Marvin Seiler and Alice Knowlton Seiler, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He grew up with a love of the outdoors and a talent for music. He started playing the bass in a dance band in high school and enjoyed playing for over 70 years, finally leaving the Phoenix Band just a few years ago.

After high school he enlisted in the army and was proud to serve his country towards the end of World War II.

He met the love of his life, Jerrie, while entertaining on USO Tours, and they were married on April 13th, 1946. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent the next 69 years entertaining all who have had the pleasure of meeting them.

Marv spent most of his professional career in the truck equipment sales area, finally retiring at the age of 78.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. The ripple effect of his spirit and influence will continue to touch lives forever.

He was preceded in death by his father Arnold, mother Alice, sister Louise Corbit, and great-granddaughter Leyna Leech.

He is survived by his wife Jerrie, children: Jean (Spring) Seiler, David (Sandy) Seiler, Ellen (Wes) Clarke, 21 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, August 1st, at the Douglas Ward, located at 721 South 1200 East, Salt Lake City, at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:30AM, before the service. Under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.

His burial will be held at Wasatch Lawn 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
