Jon Paul Leatham

1939 ~ 2017

Our beloved husband,father and friend,Jon P. Leathamreturned to his heavenly homeon May 26, 2017at age 77, when recovering after surgery. He was born to Louis Salisbury Leatham and Anna Grace Carn on May 28, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served as a missionary in the North British mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Susan Jane Lloyd on August 18, 1965 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Entomology from The University of Utah. He served for a time in the Utah National Guard. He worked for The Division of Wildlife Resources as a biologist and then after retiring, he worked at Fisher Co., Shamrock Plumbing and Dual Creek Irrigation Co. He was also an ordinance worker in the Bountiful LDS temple for many years. He served in whatever calling was assigned to him in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, one of his favorites being teaching primary children. His most favorite pastime was hunting. The bowhunt was an annual adventure he enjoyed with friends. He had an interest in drawing birds and he enjoyed reading historical fiction and other books. Most of the time, you would find him outdoors enjoying the mountains and beautiful creations around him. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and his seven children: Robert, Farmington Utah; Rebecca (Gerber), Hillsboro Oregon; Gary, Centerville Utah; Mathew, Centerville Utah; Jon, Boulder Utah; Daniel, Gainsville Virginia; Tyler, Beaverton Oregon. Also 21 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parentsand older brother Wallace Leatham.

Services will be heldSaturday June 3, 2017 at 11:00 amin the Rowland Chapel: 610 N Rowland Way (100 E,Centerville Utah 84014. A viewing will be heldFriday June 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Jon would be most grateful for donations made to The Church of Jesus Christ Humanitarian Fund or Perpetual Education Fund.
