Son of Richard Birdine and Sara Taylor Barrett. Brother to Madge Tame, Rosa Phillips and Earl Barrett. Creative mind and artist (Sears display/sales promotion management for over 30 years), accomplished musician and band leader (Spokane and Bellevue, Washington), two time military veteran (Navy in WWII, serving in the Solomon Islands; Army in the Korean War, serving in New York City with the 25th Army Band from Idaho), and active and dedicated LDS church member (Bishop twice: Bellevue, Washington and Salt Lake City, Utah). But most importantly, loving and devoted husband to Cleia Schow Barrett (sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple and married for 66 years prior to her death in September, 2013 and father to Brett (Ruth), Colett (Bruce Judd), Kirt (Lynn) and Suzett (Dan Taggart); 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, from 11:45am-12:45pm. A graveside service will be held after the viewing at 1:00 p.m. in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Online condolences: www.larkincares.com
