Charles E. Petterson, age 93, passed away on May 5, 2015 in SLC, UT. He was raised in Carbon County where he attended college and received an A.S. Degree. Charles was a WWII Veteran; he served with the Army Airborne at Ft. Benning. Later he attended the U of U and worked for the State for 40 years as an accountant. He married Fay Leola Sudweeks on Apr. 10, 1944 in the Manti Temple. They raised three children together whom they adopted after 21 years of marriage. Charles was a kind and loving man who was adored by all and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2007. He is survived by their children Douglas Pettersson, Janis (Joe) Seppie, and Janene (Tom) Fontaine. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the 29th Ward, 1148 W. 500 N., SLC. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 8th at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. So. Temple between 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral on Saturday. Special thanks to the VA for all their care, help and support.
