Lois Jeanne Brimley Tate

1925 ~ 2017

Our angel mother and grandmother, Jeanne, passed away in her Salt Lake home on Aug. 8, 2017, at the age of 92. Lois Jeanne was born on March 10, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Laverne and Thelma Dahlen Brimley. She was sealed to Burton Leon Tate on Aug. 22, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Her deep love of the Savior and her exemplary life of charity and service blessed many. She worked energetically and tirelessly for the needs of her large family, as well as quietly and faithfully in many church callings in the Primary and Relief Society. Jeanne and Burton treasured their years serving in the Salt Lake Temple.

She lovingly filled her roles as wife, mother and grandmother. Each one of her family members was her favorite, or so she made them feel. Her greatest joys were family and holiday occasions when everyone gathered. She delighted as her talented family sang or performed in any way.

Jeanne is survived by her children: Jeanne (Larry) Ludlow; Leon (Eileen) Tate; Gayle (Mike) Rafferty; Sherm (Denese) Tate; Doug (Stacey) Tate; Tricia Tate; Shauna (Ron) Ruske; David (Lynn) Tate; 40 grandchildren; and 72 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Vern Brimley. She was preceded in death by her husband and three siblings, Dick, Donna, and Marjorie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11:00 am, at Wells Ward, 1990 S. 500 E., Salt Lake City. Viewings will take place Friday, Aug. 11 from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, and from 9:45-10:45 am Aug. 12, prior to the funeral services.
