John \"Corky\" Hill

1948 ~ 2017

Our hearts are broken.

John \"Corky\" Hill, 68, of Salt Lake City, passed away, with his loved ones by his side, on May 14th, due to complications from surgery. Born July 15th, 1948 to John and Yonne Hill. He grew up in Salt Lake City, where he met and married his childhood sweetheart Vicki. They were married for 50 wonderful years on April 7 of this year.

\"John was a giant of a man with a heart of gold.\" Thanks Brandis, you described him perfectly. He was the most giving man a family could ask for. He was always there to help when ever needed.

John worked for 30 years for United Parcel Service where he made many friends and was respected by all. After retiring from UPS, John drove bus for UTA were he made many new friends.

He enjoyed hiking, fishing, and boating with family and his favorite friend Roxy. He also enjoyed watching a good car race. He spent all year looking forward to taking family and friends to the NASCAR race in Las Vegas. Most of all Cork enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Jordan 15, Tyler 12, and Ryan 12. They along with his son Chad and daughter-in-law Kathy, were the lights of his life. He was also Uncle Cork to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and treated them that way.

John is survived by his beloved wife Vicki, son Chad Hill (Kathy), brother Matt Hill (Lisa), sister Christy Madsen (Dennis), sister-in-law Linda McQuillan, 3 grandsons, and many special nieces and nephews. Too many to name you know who you are. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Kathy Bowman, brother Steven Hill, nephew Todd McQuillan, niece Lisa Bowman, and nephew Roger Bowman.

A celebration of John's life will be held Saturday, June 10,2017 from 5 to 10 PM at Dr. O. Roi Hardy Park, located 12400 South River Vista Drive in Riverton by entering from 1300 West and 12400 South.
