Our beloved husband, father and "Bonka", Larry Dawes, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 9, 2017.
"Bonka" loved many things: baseball, especially the Dodgers and the Red Sox, John Wooden, the LA Lakers, John Wayne, Elvis, Disneyland and the Utah Utes. None of these loves compared to the love he had for his family ‚ his loving wife Susan, his three children, and his four grandsons. His family, above everything else, brought him the most joy.
He is survived by his wife Susan, son Derek (Lauryn), daughters Cassidy and Kelsey (Eric) Garner, grandsons Keanu, Trey, Max and Nash and his sister Kim (Rich) Gilbert .
The family would also like to express their gratitude for the many doctors and nurses at the University of Utah hospital that assisted Larry over the years.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) Sandy. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery, 370 W Main St, Grantsville, UT.
