Lois Swift Faurschou

1921 ~ 2014

Lois Swift Faurschou, our sweet Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, silently slipped through the veil, on her own terms, surrounded by her loving family, January 16, 2014, in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born July 5, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the only child of Mary Lois Barney Swift and Fred Eberly Swift.

She grew up in Salt Lake City, attending area schools, and graduating from East High. She married her sweetheart Calvin Glen Faurschou, September 5, 1947. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, November 16, 1950.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served valiantly in the Primary Organization, Cub Scouts, as well as other callings. She and her husband served an Inner City Mission in the Cambodian Branch, where she loved serving in the Relief Society Presidency. Lois and Cal also served two Family History Missions in downtown Salt Lake City. She loved Family History, and compiled family histories for all of her grandchildren. She was always hunting for that elusive family member, and found great joy in her search. She was a quiet and reserved woman. She was never one to push her opinion on others. She loved to crochet, and was a talented seamstress. She found much satisfaction in the handmade articles she made and gave away. She never drove, because of her poor eyesight, but walked or rode the bus to wherever she needed to go. She had a sweet tooth and always had a vast array of homemade candy, and treats at the holidays that overflowed the table. She was born of strong pioneer heritage and was very proud of her ancestors. She loved family gatherings.

Thank you, Mom, Grandma, and Grandma-Great for your unconditional love and support. We love you. Until we meet again.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Dianne) Faurschou, and Nancy Jean Faurschou Wagner. Nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Cal, son Roy, daughter-in-law, Colleen Faurschou, and infant son David Swift Faurschou.
