Dorian Alice Frost Holdaway

1923 ~ 2014

Dorian Alice Frost Holdaway, 91 on Nov 9th, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born to John Franklin Frost, Jr. and Mabel Eugenia Vincent on Feb 7, 1923 in SLC, UT. In 1932 her family moved to Denver, CO. Dorian enjoyed many different sports. She played on several softball teams and took state championships. She also played on many bowling teams she was in the 500 club. She graduated from South High School, in Denver. After graduation she returned to SLC. She worked at Hill Air Force Base.

In 1944 she joined the Army as a WAC, serving until 1946. In 1950 she joined the Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1953 as a Sergeant. Later the same year she received her mission call to serve in the Uruguayan Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served for 2 Ω years. She returned to Denver, Co where she met and married Reed Holdaway on Oct 8, 1957. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple by Mark E. Peterson. Dorian Served in many church callings, including stake missionary, Relief Society and Primary president, Young Women's coach, but her favorite calling was ward librarian.

She is survived by her husband Reed Holdaway, daughter Nita Jean Holdaway Orgill (Dennis), stepson Rick Holdaway (Dana) and Carly Nueway (Wren); Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her parents and sisters Mildred Tinsley and Barbara Pershing.

Viewing Thursday Nov. 13 from 6-8pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) Funeral services Friday, Nov. 14 at 12 Noon in the Dimple Dell Park Ward, 9880 S. 3100 East, Sandy, with a viewing at the ward 11-11:45am.
