In loving memory: SLC, UT—At 78 years old, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passedaway peacefully onNovember 4.Born July 11, 1936 in Youngsville, New Mexico to Benjamin Williams and Higinia Martinez, Fred had one brother and three sisters who preceded him in death: Maximeno Williams, Vaiole (Viola) Sorenson, Odilia (Lela) Workman and Conception (Chon) Kandaris. As a natural athlete he loved sports of all kinds. While attending Snow College and later Utah State University, Fred was a tennis champion for the state of Utah and a swimming coach for the local schools. Like his father, he was a sheepherder in the Manti La Sal Mountains where he loved horseback riding, bow and arrow hunts, hunting, fishing and camping. He managed, competed and taught bowling with more trophies than there was mantle or table space. Fred played and watched basketball, tennisand golf with a passion. He went from managing the bowling alleys in Ephraim, Heber and Midvale to truck driving, hauling cars nationwide and later hauling smaller loads locally. His last place of employment was Brasher's Auto Auction in Salt Lake.

Fred married Kathleen Tuttle (deceased) in 1956 and had two daughters and two sons, Debra, Johnny (deceased), Sheri and Venny Williams, seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In 2003 he married Patricia (Pat) Haslam Toone and gained two step sons and five daughters and their spouses: Trisha (Lynn) Erickson, Julene (Bob) Price, Wendy (Mike) Mele, Marianne (Jack) Burbidge, Bob (Allison) Toone, Geri (Brett) Olson, Ryan (Karen) Toone; 27 more grandchildren and 15 more great grandchildren. Together Fred and Pat enjoyed dancing, theater, sports, traveling, gardening and many cherished family activities. They served together as service missionaries for the Church of Latter-Day Saints for six years as well as many other callings.

A memorial service is planned for family and friends Tuesday, Nov. 11, 6:30—7:30 p.m., at the Rosepark North Stake Center, North Chapel, 1155 N 1200 W, SLC, UT 84116. Additional information online at www.larkinmortuary.com.
