Robert Holt Cooper

1922 ~ 2015

Robert Holt Cooper, 93 passed away surrounded by his family on September 1, 2015 to be reunited after twenty years with his sweetheart and eternal companion Clarice.

He was born on March 9, 1922 in Provo, Utah to Robert Nelson Cooper and Jean Marie Holt Cooper. Graduated from West high School where he was an avid basketball and tennis player. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II in Belgium, France, and Germany. He studied Accounting at the University of Utah, and worked as an accountant for various companies, later becoming Director of the State of Utah Assessed Property Division until he retired.

The gospel of Jesus Christ and his family were his top priorities as he served faithfully in his ward and stake in leadership callings with the Elders and High Priests, as well as several ward and stake clerk callings. His favorite calling was spent during the 15 years he worked in the Salt Lake Temple. His roles as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather were roles that he cherished most. He married Clarice Martin on July 9, 1942 in the Logan Utah Temple, and they raised four children whom he is survived by; Rick (Katie) Cooper, Cathy (Craig) Omer, Julie (Stephen) Rawlings, Lisa (Steve) Marchant; Las Vegas Nevada, and sister-in-law Barbara Cooper. He was a loving and devoted grandfather to his 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, whom they affectionately called "Grandpa Bob," and will be greatly missed by each of them.

He is preceded in death by his wife Clarice, both parents, sister Elaine, and brothers J. Richard Cooper and William E. Cooper.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Foothill Sixth Ward, 2215 E. Roosevelt Ave (1460 South). Friends may call prior to the service at the church from 9:30-10:45 am.
