Peter Wade Beall

1944 ~ 2019

On Monday, March 18, 2019, Peter Wade Beall, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 74 in Salt Lake City, Utah after battling Parkinson's Disease. Pete was born on December 13, 1944 in Washington D.C. to Robert W. "Uncle Bob" and Harriet "Hadgie" Bonnycastle Beall. He attended Emory University as an undergraduate where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was later expelled from Emory for a grand fake murder prank with some of his fraternity brothers. Despite having no undergraduate degree, he received his medical degree from the University of Maryland in 1971, and later completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.

On September 21, 1974, he married Jeanne Marie Russell. They spent two years on Guam while Peter served as a doctor in the U.S. Navy before later relocating to Laramie, Wyoming, where Peter opened his own medical practice. While on Guam, Peter and Jeanne had two sons, Matthew Wade and Russell Wade. Their daughter, Allison Bonnycastle was born in Laramie, Wyoming.

After leaving Wyoming in 1989, Peter and Jeanne settled in the Lewiston ID/Clarkston WA Valley for the next 25 years. Pete was a surgeon with Lewiston Orthopedic Associates before retiring in 1999. From 2014-2017, Pete and Jeanne lived near their daughter in Spokane, Washington, before finally moving to Salt Lake City to be near their son and his children.

Pete Beall was a multi-talented man who enjoyed cycling, geocaching, great food, wine, conversation, and time with friends and family. He was known for his wit, intelligence, and kindness. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a jokester, an athlete, and the most amazing father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, his mother, Harriet (nee Bonnycastle), his sister, Louise "Bonny" (Ronald) Miller, and his son, Matthew. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (nee Russell), his son Rusty (Deborah), his daughter, Allison (Ted) Chauvin, his granddaughter, Gabrielle, and his grandson, Zachary.

A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Rd., Sandy, UT. A funeral service will take place at 11:30 am Wednesday, March 27th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300E 11800S, Draper, UT. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
