Carolyn Joyce DeGriselles Edlund

1940 ~ 2017

Sandy, Utah - Our Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and best friend, Carolyn Edlund, age 77, passed comfortably, at home, after battling a late age double diagnosis of Dementia and Parkinson's. Carolyn was born in Lake Wilson, MN, on April 19th of 1940 to William Earl DeGriselles and Lillian Mae Beilke. She married George MaKay Edlund in 1958 and has been married for 59 years. Carolyn is survived by her husband, George, her children Joan (Roger) Alvey, Brent Edlund, Teresa (Marcie) Edlund, Grant Edlund. Also survived by four beloved grandchildren: Brooke Alvey, Autumn Alvey, Jaxon Edlund-Scarbrough, Ozcar Edlund-Scarbrough, also by her sister Judith Johnson of Logan, UT and by numerous Brother and Sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sybil DeGriselles and two brothers; Paul DeGriselles and Michael DeGriselles, as well as her father and mother-in-law Oscar Edlund and Luella Cline. Her grandchildren truly sparked joy within her every time she was able to be near them. She was sure that even if she did not feel well, she would make the extra effort to take care of her precious ones. Once while not feeling well, she even made a long trip to Oregon to support her family with a premature birth while she was dealing with all her other ailments. Carolyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her great joys in life was being offered the opportunity to serve at the LDS Jordan River Temple for many years before her first grandchild. Often leaving in winter snowstorms before dawn or in the breaking dawn of summer, she found great comfort in the work which very often, was tiring for her; because of her conditions, and at the same time very exhilarating for her spirit.
