Frances Harriet Houston Fritsch

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Frances Harriet Houston Fritsch, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2018.

Francie was born September 13, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Iowa Ryckman and James Garfield Houston. Sealed for all time and eternity to her loving husband Wallace Herbert Fritsch June 21, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Francie was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an active member in many capacities. She found her most special calling to be in the Youth Center at the Salt Lake Temple. Francie loved working with children and was always happy working with them. She worked as a preschool teacher at Challenger School for over 10 years. "Miss Francie" would tell children she taught to take pointer finger and trace around their heart shaped mouth and say, "With your heart shaped mouth—remember to say ‘I love you.'"

Wally and Francie loved having family and friends over for dinner. They both loved to decorate the house, especially the table. Francie had a profound love for cooking and sharing it with loved ones.
