Robert Dana

1942 ~ 2015

Robert "Bob" Dana, 73, of Vernal, Utah, passed away on June 23, 2015 with his family by his side.

Bob was born on January 5, 1942, to Richard Wilson Dana and Alta Catherine Smith in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Bob grew up in Rawlins, Wyoming, and graduated from Rawlins High School in 1960. As a young man he worked hauling the mail from Rock Springs, WY to Cheyenne, WY and spent some of his spare time riding bare-back for the rodeo. It was during this time that he met, fell in love, and married Lynda Louise Campbell. They were married for 51 years.

In 1973 they moved to Vernal, Utah where they raised their three children. Bob was the Owner, Operator of Bob Dana Trucking for over 35 years, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, and spending time with his family. He loved passing these traditions on to his grandchildren.

He is survived by their three children, Kimberley (George) Wiley, Rob Dana, Robin (Vince) Scalisi, and eight grandchildren: (Tiffany, DJ, Stephanie, Austin, Shay, Hunter, Nicholas, and Michael). He is also survived by his brother Richard Dana, sister-in-laws Vicki Davidson and Carol Campbell; brother‚in-law, Gary Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lynda, his parents, brother-in-law Dave Campbell, and sister-in-law, Joyce Campbell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 4, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00-11:00 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S.) Sandy, Utah.
