Paul W. Nielsen

1956 ~ 2019

We are saddened at the loss of our husband, father, and "Papa" Paul W. Nielsen. He passed away Monday, August 26, 2019, from complications of sepsis that he contracted in late June. He fought a good fight, but in the end he was unable to recover from its effects.

Paul was born in Kaysville, Utah on February 15, 1956. The youngest of four children (siblings: Kathy, Shirley, and Alan), he was raised in Logan, Utah and later moved with his family to Kansas, California, and then back to Utah.

Paul was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a faithful mission in Japan. He held many church callings throughout his life, but his favorite was always working with the youth. He and his wife served a three-year inner-city mission. He also loved serving at the Draper Temple from the day it was dedicated up until the time of his passing.

He married his childhood sweetheart Jana, and together they raised four amazing children; 3 daughters and 1 son. He and Jana considered them their greatest accomplishment and joy. He was the dad everyone wanted and filled their childhoods and years growing up with unforgettable memories.

He had a love for life and was always on the go! His passions included boating (especially at Lake Powell), his yearly motorcycle rides on his faithful yellow Harley Davidson, flying his drone, but mostly spending time with his family and 16 grandchildren ‚ all while listening to his ‚Äò70s Classic Rock music.

We are grateful for the knowledge that we will see him again and find peace that he has been reunited with his loving parents James "Jimmy" and Opal Nielsen.

His legacy consists of his wife Jana, his four children Ashlee (Richard), Linzee (Steve), Brian (Chrissie), and Courtney (Ryan), as well as his wonderful grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 11:00am at the Draper River View Stake Center located at 12101 S 700 W, Draper, Utah, 84020. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah.
