Ruth passed away October 27, 2013. As Ruth would say, "I'm going to heaven".
She was born on March 19, 1915 to Leland and Susie Jeffs in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the eldest of three siblings. Ruth attended West High School and the University of Utah where she attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education. She married Clark Atkin April 9, 1938 in Beaver, Utah where they met while she was student teaching at the local school house. They moved to Salt Lake City and raised two sons, Leland and Kenneth. Ruth taught second grade at Webster Elementary School which was on 800 East and 450 South, in the same room on the third floor for thirty years. She retired in 1977.
She is survived by her two sons Leland (Mary Jeanine) and Kenneth (Liz), seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clark, sister Leone and her brother Ern.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. A visitation will be held from 11:00a.m. to 12:30p.m. prior to the services. Online condolences can be shared at www.larkincares.com
