Sumiko Ando Nagata

1918 ~ 2014

Sumiko Ando Nagata, 95, passed Easter morning, April 20, 2014 of natural causes.

She was born August 7, 1918 in Pocatello, Idaho to Kakuzo Ando and Sho Suwa. She married Sadao Nagata December 25, 1942 in Sugar City, Idaho. Sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She received her R.N. Degree from L.D.S. Hospital School of Nursing. Lived and worked in many places throughout the world following her husband's various Army assignments.

Her life was filled with service to her family and church. She served side-by-side with her husband translating documents as he worked as project engineer for the construction of the Tokyo Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survived by children Terrell Nagata (Leah), Byron Nagata, Ann Morris (John), 9 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm as well as from 9:45-10:45, prior to the services, at Larkin Mortuary. Interment to follow services in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
