Wayne Marshall Freeland

1949 ~ 2017

A very proud Vietnam Veteran passed away Thursday May 25, 2017 at 10:45 pm at the University of Utah Hospital. Born to Geraldine and E. Byrd Gore in Alexandria, VA on October 11, 1949, the brother of Gatie Grover (Steve), Christine Furneisen (Craig) and Edwina Foltz (Steve). Married to KayLynn Waters Freeland for 31 years. Stepsons: Bryon Draper (Chay), Clinton Draper (Chrissy), Brothers-in-law: John Waters (Sherri), Guy Cox (Terrie), Mark Waters (Nanette), Cary Waters (Jennifer), Vern Marvidikis (Debbie) and Sister-in-law: Pam Versteeg (Brent).

Survived by grandchildren Kendall, Jared, Jaison, Jimmy, Christian, Meghan, Quinnton, Kierra and Kaylee; and Great-Grandchildren Dellin, Matthew, Erica, Kaydence and Harmony. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son Marshall, granddaughter Shaina, grandparents Nana and Granddaddy Watson Morgan.

Wayne worked at Komatsu for 15 years where he had many friends. He loved riding dirt bikes, camping and exploring the West Desert with grandson Quinnton and great grandson Dellin, his buddies. Wayne loved having all of his grandchildren around him, riding bikes and taking them camping. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Granger West 9th Ward, 4460 West Courtney Drive, West Valley City, where friends and family may visit Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services.
