Carol Joan Cardon Child, wife of Arvile Kent Child (1927 - 1996) and daughter of Louis and Eleanor Cardon of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on Friday, October 21st, six days after her 87th birthday. She suffered a brief illness and passed in Bakersfield, California, where she had been living near her son, Dr. Jeffrey Child and wife Cherie for the past two years. Other survivors include daughters Alison Child Kirwin (Paul) and Robyn Child Cole (John). Two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great step-grandchildren round out the immediate family picture. An older brother, Louis Cardon and sister Gloria Cardon Alsop preceded Carol in death.
Carol had a zest for living, always open to new life experiences. She was a high school teacher, an interior decorator, a real estate agent, patron of the arts, tennis player, golfer,active in book clubs and symphony groups. Always up for a great trip, there were not too many places in the world she hadn\t seen. Over the years, Carol resided in: Salt Lake City, Utah; Newport Beach, California; Park City, Utah; La Quinta, California; Carlsbad, California and Bakersfield, California.
Carol\s last wishes were to be buried next to her beloved husband, Arvile Kent Child, who has been residing in Park City\s cemetery since November of 1996. There will be a brief graveside service at 2 pm at the Park City Cemetery on Saturday, November 5th. It will be followed by a local gathering of family and friends at the home of Alison and Paul at 3001 Meadows Drive in Park City.
