Margaret June Wilcox "Maggie" passed away on Nov. 11, 2013, in Salt Lake City, UT. Maggie was born on March 3, 1958, in Salt Lake City, to Henry Charles and Cora June Hansen Wilcox. She was the youngest of three children.
Maggie attended Columbus School and later was part of the Columbus Workshop and Activity Center. She lived at Jones Court Group Home in Murray for 32 years. She was one of the first five residents of this facility for special needs children. She was artistic and creative and loved to make objects out of ordinary household materials. Maggie was very loving and loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Anthony (Linda) Wilcox, Plano, TX; sister, Cory (Joseph) Bauman, Salt Lake City, UT; nephew, Sky Bauman, Madison, WI; aunt, Shirley Norton, uncle, Wallace R. Hansen, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
As Maggie's family, we would like to express our gratitude to the caretakers at Jones Court and the staff at Columbus Community Center and her social worker Melissa Quigley, for their devoted attention and care.
Funeral services for Maggie will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, SLC, UT, where a viewing will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services.
