Marla Smith Smart passed away unexpectedly at her home in Midvale, Utah on Thursday, August 9, 2018. She was born on December 11, 1951 to Dean Palmer and Lois Edwards Smith in Murray, Utah.
Marla grew up in West Jordan and attended Bingham High School. She married Terry Holt Smart in 1969, later divorced. She had two daughters, Amy Whipple Campbell and Andrea VanWagoner, who loved her very much. She worked in the service industry, driving bus for Jordan School District, like her dad did. Her passions included her children and grandchildren, caring for her plants and cooking amazing food.
She is survived by her daughter Amy Whipple Campbell; her grandchildren Rylee and Aidan Whipple, Josie and Chase VanWagoner; her brother Brent (Sue) Smith; nieces and nephews; future son-in-law David Cruz and former sons-in-law Todd Whipple and Jason VanWagoner. Preceded in death by her daughter Andrea VanWagoner; parents Dean and Lois Smith; siblings Larry E. Smith, Lynne D. Smith; son-in-law Adam Campbell; and many dogs.
A small graveside service will be held for close family and friends on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery.
