John Craig Chase Beck

1936 ~ 2018

How do you sum up 82 years of a life well-lived in a few paragraphs? Craig Beck was the type of person who always had to be busy doing something, and he lived an eventful life filled with family, friends, faith, hard work, and many joyful adventures. He competed in tennis competitions, flew airplanes, raised and showed Collies, traveled to many places, read hundreds of books, and diligently magnified his church callings.

Craig had a gift with people. He genuinely cared about others and would eagerly go out of his way to help someone in need. He was a truly remarkable husband, father, friend, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Craig\s kindness and strong people skills made him a brilliant salesman who worked hard to take care of his customers. For many years, he owned a brokerage business, selling things like candies, flavorings, nuts, and other food commodities. Craig has also been involved with school fundraisers, and most recently, since he could never quite bring himself to retire completely, he was a distributor of SweetPro products, selling cattle feed and horse supplements.

He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his children Bobbie (Bob) Whitney, Teri (Mark) Mathes, Kim Beck, Stephen (Debbie) Beck; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was recently preceded in death by his wife, Bobbi, and his grandson, Jacob Beck, and he has undoubtedly had a joyful reunion with them both.
