Orrin T. Farnsworh

1951 ~ 2016

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend returned home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 3, 2016.

Orrin was born on July 24, 1951 to Vea Valine Bell and Orrin Faye Farnsworth in Salina, UT. He was the fourth of five children, where he was raised in Salina and Salt Lake City with his four sisters. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1969, and then served in the Air National Guard for six years.

He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Coleby, on September 23, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS temple.

After working for Delta Airlines for over 20 years, Orrin was able to purse his passion full-time in the solar industry, an interest that began in 1984 on a camping trip to Yellowstone. As a pioneer in the Utah solar industry, Orrin sold the first solar panel in the state of Utah. Years later, he started his own solar distributor business, Intermountain Solar, in 1996 . He became president of the Utah Solar Association for several years, where he enjoyed educating Utah communities about solar energy.

His love for outdoors was prevalent in his life, where he enjoyed camping with his family and always loved finding new places to explore. For several years he spent his summers visiting the family cabin at the Strawberry Pinnacles on Strawberry River, where he enjoyed fixing up the land and staying busy.

After a lifetime of living in the Salt Lake Valley, three years ago Orrin and his wife made the move to the warmer climates of St. George. It was there he discovered another passion-riding ATV's. Orrin loved exploring nature and being in the outdoors, and combining that with a fast moving vehicle, it was the perfect fit. He was part of a large RZR club, and would take weekly rides exploring the desert landscape and testing out his newfound ATV skills. He had the ability to make friends wherever he went, and especially enjoyed spending time with his SunRiver friends in St George.

Orrin was a go-getter, and always accomplished the things he set his mind to. He was a great example of not stressing the small stuff, and trusting that things will always work out.

Orrin enjoyed serving in several LDS church callings throughout his life, which fueled his strong faith and testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ. He as a powerful example to those around him.

Orrin is the proud father of three children, and proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren, and will be deeply missed by everyone his life has touched.
