Together Forever

Mada Beckstead DeMill, our beloved mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother returned to her Heavenly home to be with her sweetheart, Carl on June 16th, 2014.

She was born May 9th 1925, the youngest of eight children, to Alfred Ray and Sarah Webb Beckstead in South Jordan Utah.

She grew up on a farm during the depression and learned the meaning of hard work. She worked at the Remington Arms Plant during WWII making ammunition for the defense of our country.

Mada met Carl DeMill on a blind date, then several months later, on June 14th 1950, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints she served in numerous callings and is known for her love, compassion and service she rendered to everyone. She served as a temple worker in the Jordan River temple for many years and served a full time mission with her eternal companion in Olive-Hill Kentucky.

Mada spent many years serving in the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers organization.

Mada is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Husband (Carl), and son (Gordan). She is survived by two sons; Lynn (EvaJean), Merlin (Cindy) and two daughters; Carla and LaDonna (Jimmy), 22 Grandchildren and 53 Great Grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all those who tenderly cared for her at Carrington Court Assisted Living, Harmony Home Health and Hospice, and Millcreek Home Health and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday June 21, 2014 at the LDS church, 10124 South 1300 West, South Jordan, Utah (just next to the Jordan River Temple).

Friends may call from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday June 20th and from 11:30 a. m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services, at the same location.
