Cassandra Ann Dixon, age 26, died suddenly and tragically at her home in Sandy, Utah on June 23, 2017. Cassandra (Cassie) was born to Kent and Julie Dixon on December 5, 1990 at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cassie was born with big green eyes and beautiful auburn hair with a personality you would never forget. She was the second of three children.
Cassie was raised in Sandy, Utah. At the age of 3 Cassie was put into gymnastics at Missy Marlow Gymnastics. With her driven personality she excelled into the most beautiful and amazing gymnast who did her routines with such grace and confidence. Cassie was at the top of her class. By the age of 10 she was placed on a team and began competition sports. Each year Cassie participated in numerous multi-state competitions which she would always place in one or more of the events. In 2005 she was one of seven girls of over 3000 who competed to go to New York City for the National Gymnastics meet to represent the State of Utah. By the age of 16 Cassie was a level 9 which is one level before college. Cassie received many gold, silver and bronze medals.
She was very gifted and talented in everything that she did. After gymnastics Cassie attended Brighton High School and then later attended Weber State University where she studied and majored in Psychology. Cassie loved spending time with her family. Whether that be going on a hike with her dad and the dogs or going shopping with her mom or just hanging out with her sister and helping out with her kids. As long as she was with her family she was happy. She loved playing dress up with her nieces and then filming silly videos and taking silly pictures. The girls always had fun with their aunt Cassie. Cassie was always full of energy and spunk and could always put a smile on your face. She was one of those people that you can never forget. Although her time here on earth was short we will cherish every memory we have had with her and carry her legacy on until we meet again.
Cassie is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfathers Noel Dixon and Gerald Dean, Maternal Grandparents Clyde and Rhea Simons. Cousins Russ Simons and Jennifer Simons
Cassie is survived by her parents; Kent and Julie (Simons) Dixon, siblings; Amanda Dixon (Kelly Martin), Matt Dixon, nephew; Austin Rocco, nieces; Kylee, Haylee and Brookelynn and many aunts and uncles and friends who all loved Cassie very much.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11 am at the Granite Stake Center, 2523 E. New Castle Drive in Sandy. A Viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday June 29, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at the Stake Center, and on Friday before the funeral from 10am to 10:45 am. Interment will be at Payson City Cemetery at 400 N. 800 E. Street in Payson.
