Our sweet loving \"Papa\" passed away July 17, 2017 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born on February 23, 1928 in Beaverdam, Virginia to Daniel Cephas Stanley and Cora Ellet Tate. He was a soft spoken, hard working, and respected man. He served his country honorably for many years during WWII and the Korean War, achieving the rank of Master sergeant. After his retirement from the military, he worked as a general contractor and Virginia State police dispatcher. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.
He is preceded in death by his sweetheart, Shirley Madge Sharpe; 9 siblings; son, Bruce Stanley; and grandson, Daniel Koenig.
He is survived by 4 siblings; children, Kenneth Stanley, Shirley Saunders (Clifton), and Darlene Koenig (Karl-Heinz); daughter in-law, Kristine Widmann Romano; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We shall miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017, 11am, at the Bountiful 14th Ward Chapel, 1500 S. 600 E., Bountiful, UT. There will be a viewing prior to the service at 9:00am. Interment at Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover, VA.
