Donna Rae Dymock Hodson

1940 ~ 2017

Donna Rae Dymock Hodson, 77, passed away peacefully in Sandy, Utah on June 1, 2017. She was born April 10, 1940 to George Sylvester Dymock and Lorita Cardon in Tooele, UT She loved the hometown feel of Tooele, where she developed lifelong friendships.

Donna married Woodrene Herbert Babbel on Dec. 6, 1958 (divorced). Later, she met Fred Hodson while performing sealings in the Salt Lake Temple. They married in that same temple on June 25, 1988. They served a mission together in Bangkok, Thailand from 1992-94.

Donna had a talent for writing stories, a passion for visiting teaching, and a love for her many callings. She developed great empathy and the ability to listen to others from her personal pursuit of knowledge in psychology. She loved her family and friends.

Donna is survived by her husband, Fred; children Michael Babbel, David (Cathy) Babbel, Lisa Babbel; stepchildren Michael Hodson, Elaine (Gordon) Erickson, Nathan (Lisa) Hodson, Gaylianne Hodson, Carolyn (Shane) Jensen, Stephen (Pat) Hodson, Rachel (David) Inkley; 29 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren; sisters Evelyn Lindsay, Lillian Horrocks, and Nancy Draper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, and a daughter-in-law, Kim.

Services will be held Friday, June 9, 11:00 am at the Draper 2nd Ward, 1617 East 12700 South with visitation prior to the funeral from 9:45-10:45. A viewing will also be held Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the same location. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, UT
